Today is May 17th World Hypertension Day and cardiologist Augusto Francisco Chois Málaga from Sanna – San Borja clinic explain the importance of eating healthy foods and doing physical activities to control hypertension.
"The first thing to take into account is weight control, it is the basis for not being overweight and obese. This will be achieved by avoiding salt, fat, flour, and especially packaged foods that usually contain high levels of salt," explained the doctor.
For Chois, the recommended diet for these people is the Mediterranean diet, made with vegetables, fruits (not sweet) and lean white meat.
Follow the exercise routine every day for one hour, also recommended, walking or running, this will depend on the age you have.
Finally, eliminate harmful habits such as excessive consumption of tobacco or alcohol.
