Sergio Novelli, a Venezuelan journalist, recorded a video in which he responded to allegations against him made by Emanuel Andrade, the son of a former treasurer who was sentenced to 10 years in prison in the United States for corruption.

"Before some comments appeared around me, I commented: You know me. I practiced on RCTV and I worked on radio and other television channels such as Globovisión. While there, I was the image of star news and several clients, including famous insurance companies that's related to the channel. That's why they paid me for my work on bolivar in 2013, "Novelli said in a video posted on his Twitter.

Andrade published in his Instagram story a picture in which Novelli was with Dayana Mendoza, Miss Universe 2008, which moved the insurance company party.

The journalist, who stressed that he had more than 28 years in his profession, explained that he left the television channel when he saw that he had "the freedom to continue talking what I want".

"My career speaks for me. I don't need to hide anything," Novelli said.
