Good news keeps coming because of cycling. With extraordinary results for Norte de Santander, this week ended XXI Classic of the Caribbean, played in Cartagena between last Friday and Sunday. The competition is organized by Cycling League of Bolívar and is supported by the Colombian Cycling Federation.
In the last stage of the youth category, Norte won the victory with Andrés Saavedra from Cucuta, leaving the department as the second in the general classification of the contest. At the final table, Rojinegros also came in second place Michel Martínez.
On the Elite branch, the department won the first 120 kilometer fraction between Turbaco-Arjona-Turbaco and was named the champion of flying goals, with cyclist Jossimar Jerez, from Rice Zulia Norte team, who is also third overall, while Rosario Alcides Espinel is second .
Jerez, who stopped the clock in 3 hours, 13 seconds, won the package at Angel Rivas, Juan Espinel and Bolivarense Ferney Restrepo in the first stage.
Once he won the stage and became the first leader, Jossimar Jerez celebrated this new achievement in the name of his region. "This is a beautiful stage with ups and downs, it makes the weather good, the day is cloudy, nice."
