The United States has agreed to allow eight countries, including Japan, India and South Korea, to continue purchasing Iranian oil after a reinvestment on 5 May of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).

The official, who was not named, said that while Trump's goal was to continue the suppression of the Iranian economy, exemptions from exemptions from Iran's oil imports were issued in exchange for ongoing import cuts, the Bloomberg news agency said on Friday. Oil prices do not rise.
