Chinese technology giant Xiaomi has announced a strategic partnership with Ikea as part of the MIDC developer conference. Thanks to the partnership – the first of the Swedish furniture giants with Chinese companies – Ikea's smart lighting product portfolio will interact with Xiaomi's IoT platform later this year. This explains Xiaomi via a blog.
The Xiaomi IoT platform is said to connect more than 132 million devices with 20 million active devices every day in 200 countries around the world. Internal voice control, for example, must be actively used by 34 million users per month. Thanks to integration, smart Ikea lights will be able to be operated by Xiaomi solutions such as voice control or Mi Home applications from December onwards. In addition, the lights can be paired with Xiaomi IoT devices such as sensors and electronic devices to illuminate these intelligent scenes.
