The Ikea furniture giant remembers the white "Glivarp" extension table throughout the world. Extracting a glass table plate can be removed from the rail and dropped, Ikea said on Tuesday.
Customers have made the Swedish giant aware of the wrong construction. Cindy Andersen, Business Manager for Kitchen and Dining at Ikea Sweden, said: "Customer security is a top priority for Ikea. Therefore, Ikea decided to remember the product as a preventative measure."
Nearly 900 tables are sold in Switzerland
Six customers were injured, three of whom had to see a doctor, an Ikea spokesman said for the AFP news agency. It's all about tables that are sold after January 1, 2017 – around 45,560 worldwide. Ikea brought it back without proof of purchase.
Switzerland was also affected by the recall. This product is available in two different sizes. In Switzerland, Ikea has sold 754 larger tables and 138 smaller ones.
