South Korean smartphone maker Samsung launched a smartphone prototype that opened as a book at a development conference in San Francisco a few days ago. Analysts, however, expect a very simple presentation from a smartphone, but only the technology based will be expected.
On the front of the prototype presented by Samsung more than 5000 software developers and partner companies, a relatively small screen with a diagonal of 11.6 centimeters can be found, while the main screen in a state of progress measuring 18.5 cm.
In a folded state, the device can be used as an ordinary smartphone. When opened by the user, the application used then moves to a significantly larger screen called Infinity Flex by Samsung. Of course, it's possible to display more information and content on this screen than smaller ones. This is not only useful for photos, videos and games, but for example. also for news applications that can display more messages.
Even better: as Samsun said, up to three applications can be used simultaneously on devices that spread, without it being blurred. For more convenient use, a new design from one UI interface must be provided. In addition, Google has announced that a future version of its operating system will also support foldable phones.
How to see a new smartphone is unknown. At the development conference, Samsung presented a prototype so it was impossible to see almost anything but the screen. Also, it is not known when a new smartphone must come to the market.
Early sales cannot be too far away. Samsung plans to launch "the next few months" with Infinity Flex mass production. Therefore, analysts expect the first Samsungov hands-free smartphone to be expected in 2019.
As the next generation of Infinity Flex, Samsung has invited all those present at the development conference to participate. If their application is not suitable, this foldable cellphone will also be a blank device without real content.
