Ljubljana – Treatment of the deceased now Steve Petrović, who died at the end of 2013 after more than one year of wrong lung cancer treatment, at Šempeter Hospital, Franco Derganca was negligent, unprofessional and contrary to the rules of the medical profession, in an inconclusive assessment, he found a district court in Novo Mesto.
As we wrote before time, long-term smoker Petrovic helped at Dr. General Hospital Franz Derganc discovered a respiratory problem for the first time on July 10, 2012. The real cause of the problem was not detected, and he was told that further investigation was needed. In the next review, besides amoxiclav antibiotics, he was given efloran, but he again contacted Dr. Damjan Birtiču; He was hospitalized because he suffered from pneumonia. Treatment with new antibiotics does not help, bronchoscopy or some other investigation is not done, the patient is explained in detail in his statement two months before the death of treatment.
Antibiotic therapy continued after he was discharged from the hospital, due to additional problems, a pulmonary expert in October set a week of antibiotics. In November 2012, he even told him that there was an abscess recovery and ordered him to be examined in a year. But because of his acute pain, he went to the emergency room and to the private doctor who was sent in May 2013 to the initial examination of the same pulmonologist, but he was sent home by analgesics.
When the pain became unbearable in June, he went to a personal pulmonologist, who, after checking X-ray images, immediately sent him to Golnik. After being hospitalized on July 9, he was diagnosed in less than a week: lung cancer with metastasis in the supraclavicular lymph nodes (in the bruise area), vertebrae, skull and brain, and told him the terrible news that he was left with only a few months life. He died on the last day of 2013 at the age of 56 years. "Sometimes I think I'm dreaming and I hope they will tell me that the last terrible diagnosis is also wrong!" He wrote at the end of October 2013, two months before his death.

The District Court in Nova Gorica has filed a lawsuit against his relatives, who demanded 354 thousand criminal charges against Zavarovalnica Triglav, where the Šempeter Hospital has insured responsibility, but not entirely in terms of that amount. According to reports from Primorske beginners, three people have been compensated for their families for more than 50 thousand damage, while relatives say that the verdict for them is mainly moral satisfaction.
The court found, among other things, that appropriate diagnostic procedures must be carried out in hospitals as early as October 2012 and November 2012. While insisting on long-term smoking problems and patients with pulmonary changes like that, even though the remission process is beneficial, they should also consider the development of lung cancer and make a diagnosis or refer the patient to the appropriate specialized institution. The order of such patients for control only within one year after interpretation of lung X-ray images does not mean true, the court summarized the expert's opinion and concluded that the doctor's behavior was unprofessional and illegal.
Birtič pulmologists are supported in criminal proceedings for this case, because the prosecutor accused him of mistreatment; the trial is not yet finished.
