Extensive amendments to the Road Act: See the most significant changes that will occur

Last week, lawmakers approved a new version of the Road Act, which changed several regulations related to driving motorized vehicles on Slovak roads. This package includes activities such as talking with your hands at the wheel or holding the cellphone itself. With a few exceptions, the amendment will take effect from January 2020.

10. Lower age requirements

Age limits for vehicle C and CE categories also come with a new look. In their case, the age limit will be reduced from 21 to 18 years. In the case of categories D and DE, reduced from 24 to 21 years for members of the Police, Judicial Corps and Judicial Guards, Fire and Rescue Corps, customs officers or professional soldiers.

The central parking information system will also be improved.
