Go-Jek pushed into the Singapore market with the launch of the beta application

SINGAPORE: The company is navigating Go-Jek to launch a beta version of its application in Singapore on Thursday (November 29), starting the launch of its services across the island.

During this beta phase, Go-Jek said access to applications will be given in groups to balance driving demand and service capabilities.

At the initial stage, the application will be available only in areas such as Singapore's Central Business District, Jurong East, Changi, Punggol, Ang Mo Kio and Sentosa. Only passengers traveling to and from these registered areas can book trips with Go-Jek during the beta phase.

This application can be downloaded from iOS and Android application stores in Singapore starting Thursday.

The company said the beta application marked the start of "the gradual launch of Go-Jek ride search services across the island because more car partners joined from time to time to meet consumer demand".

The beta phase is expected to last for several weeks with the company targeting the launch of the entire island in early 2019.

Go-Jek added that the launch of this application also began its strategic partnership with DBS Bank.

DBS and POSB customers in Singapore will be prioritized on the waiting list, and receive S $ 5 voucher for each of their first two trips.

Commenting on the launch, President Go-Jek Andre Soelistyo said: "It is a great pride that we started launching our services in Singapore. Consumers across the country have told us that they want more choices in this sector and with the launch of our beta application, waiting they will end soon.

"We are launching in beta for now, while we refine our services to ensure that they meet the high standards expected by Singaporeans. Thus, we ask all users, both drivers and passengers, to give us continuous feedback as we work to create the best service for the country. "

RECRUITMENT FOR DRIVER & # 39; OVERWHELMING & # 39;

Go-Jek also increased its efforts to recruit drivers by launching a portal where they can register in advance to use the platform.

Responding to questions from Channel NewsAsia, Indonesian companies said the response from the driver community was "extraordinary" with "thousands of drivers" registering through the portal.

Go-Jek added that they had started several onboarding activities with a small number of driver partners to test the process and gather feedback.

"The launch is done in batches because we want to ensure that all driver partners have a pleasant orientation experience. By limiting the number of driver partners per session, we will be able to provide the best experience possible. We will continue to invite more drivers into the process as we increase onboarding efforts us, "said the spokesman.
