On November 9, Nissan opened a new Nissan Technic Center Europe office in the Primorsky District on St. Petersburg. This was reported by the company on Monday.

The Russian Division of the Nissan Technic Center Europe is involved in car development and the introduction of technological innovations in accordance with the laws and needs of Russian buyers. The first step towards opening NTCE in Russia was the opening of the Russian market research department in 2005, which employed only three people. Then, based on the production site in St. Petersburg, an NTCE center consisting of 18 people opened, involved in localization components in accordance with market specifications.

The new design center decided to place in a separate two-story building with an area of ​​4170 m2 near the main production. In the center there are laboratories and office buildings where 120 employees work. The company noted that the potential and attractiveness of investment in the Russian market has played a decisive role in expanding the company in Russia.

At the opening ceremony, NTCE's Senior Vice President Nobusuke Tokura thanked the central engineers and employees for their work and noted the importance of the support given to the company by the state government and Petersburg.

Note that Nissan has been represented in Russia since 2004. In 2017, sales of companies on the Russian market amounted to 105,482 vehicles from three brands. And Nissan, INFINITI and Datsun's market share in Russia is 6.6%. At present, Russia is one of the few countries in the world where the three corporate brands are represented.
