The first case of African swine fever in wild boar was confirmed in Buzau County on Monday, after laboratory analysis. The animal was found by indigenous people about one kilometer away from another outbreak, according to the MEDIAFAX correspondent.
According to representatives from Buzau Prefecture, the first case of African swine fever in the Beceni area was confirmed.
"The animal was found to be rotten about a kilometer away from the Mărgăriţi epidemic. It was sent to a long bone analysis, and IDSA confirmed African pig fever," the Buzau Prefecture said.
The pig was found by a man in the area who told the authorities.
