According to leading analyst companies such as IDC, IHS Markit, and Counterpoint Huawei took over Apple again in the third quarter of 2018 and remained the second largest smartphone vendor in the world for two consecutive quarters.
While its market share fell slightly from 15.9% in the last quarter, Huawei still shipped 52 million handsets and won 14.6% of the global market share.
From a product perspective, the P-series and Mate-series keep it competitive. And Honor, which focuses on young consumers through online channels, continues to sell well in many markets.
IDC said smartphone vendors sent 355.2 million units in Q3, down 6.0% YoY, leading to fourth-quarter losses. This doubts the smartphone market.
China represents about one third of the global smartphone market share. However, it has declined since Q2 2017, and Q3 2018 is the sixth quarter in which the Chinese smartphone market has contracted.
However, Huawei is gaining momentum due to growth in local and global shipments.
Huawei's success can be attributed to its persistent efforts in R & D and customer experience.
Richard Yu once said, "Huawei CBG starts with and ends with the end user". To satisfy and please customers is always "one thing" that Huawei does every day. But there are no shortcuts for a good customer experience.
The only way to get ahead is to provide better products and services, and show customers how much Huawei cares about them, and how close Huawei is to listening to their voices. This is one example of the meaning of "customer-centricity" for the company.
Thanks to this effort, Huawei is now a brand that is loved by the world. More people are turning to (and even sticking to) Huawei smartphones.
Everything Huawei does is about improving customer experience.
Innovation has never stopped at Huawei. Innovation to inspire customer experience – that's the secret element of Huawei to market success.
