Activision's share price has continued to decline over the past few months, causing market speculation that it is in a prime position for takeover. That said, Activision is a very large company, and thus not many companies are in a position to take over the takeover. Disney can do it, and that is what one investor must do. More specifically, Nick Licouris from Gerber Kawasaki Inc. think Disney must enter and devour one of the biggest video game industry companies.
According to Kawasaki, the presence of esports that developed in Activision can be of particular concern to Disney, especially in relation to the Disney TV network. Furthermore, Activision has many resources to make Disney property based games.
"Ideally for an investor you want this to happen now," Licouris said in an interview with Bloomberg.
That said, there is a small possibility that Disney will take such a step in the near future. As you will know, Disney has been in the video game industry in a different capacity for a while now, and it doesn't always work well for that. At present, Disney has stated that it is more interested in licensing than publishing at this time. He currently has Star Wars licensing agreement with EA, and has deployed a large Marvel license. And probably will continue to do this in the future.
Of course, there are also other applicants who can come sniffing, like Apple, Amazon, and Google, all who are trying to get a foothold in the rising industry, which is expected to generate $ 152.1 billion in revenue this year. That said, Activision had said it was not interested in being taken over, and hostile takeovers rarely went well. See how it turns out Vivendi with Ubisoft.
By the way, as usual, don't hesitate to leave one or two comments to tell us what you think or say to me on Twitter @Tyler_Fischer_ and tell me there. Do you want to see Disney take over Activision or do you think Disney should continue to make licensing deals throughout the industry as it is being done recently?
