Chimbote Online.- The Coordinator of the Sexually Transmitted Disease Referral Program (ETS), La Caleta Hospital in Chimbote, Liliana Diestra Pastor urged residents to join in with various activities carried out for the World Day of War on AIDS, which is celebrated every December 1
He said that at La Caleta 149 this disease test was carried out as part of a screening campaign, to set aside and prevent it, but they turned out to be negative. He also showed that they will hold information exhibitions, video forums and rock band concerts called "Sida Es Vida".
The Diestra Pastor said that the hospital conducts free examinations from Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 11:30, while on Tuesday nights from 2 to 4 pm.
He recalled that in hospitals he recorded 101 new cases of HIV and eight AIDS so far this year and whose ages fluctuated between 20 and 35 years. He mentioned that up to now there were 530 patients who received antiretroviral treatment.
He added that 5 percent of patients who entered the hospital did not cope with the disease and eventually died, as a result of the disease in an advanced stage.
