About 150 Ryanair passengers on their way from France to London could tell a rather unusual reason for their delay: the plane was confiscated.
Passengers are checked and completed with a security check. They walked off the road and boarded the plane when they received an unexpected message on Thursday night.
The United States unfortunately had to seize the plane because the company owed money, according to French aviation authorities after the event in Bordeaux.
"Staff at the airport said something was wrong with the plane," said passenger Boris Hejblum.
No representative from the airline was present, and the only message from Ryanair was two text messages that the departure was delayed and a 5 euro voucher, which was a little five times.
"This is less than the price of sandwiches at the airport," Hejblum said. The Frenchman felt strange that the police were the only ones who gave some information.
The aircraft – a Boeing 737 – was released Friday after Ryanair paid a bill of 525,000 euros, equivalent to around 5 million Norwegian kroners.
