NEW YORK (AP) – American composer Nico Muhly used to break records when it came to owning his work at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City.

Ten years ago, at the age of 27, he was the youngest composer ever assigned to write songs for the Met stage, an opera called "Two Boys." Now he is back with another opera, "Marnie," which made him the first person in more than half a century to be assigned twice.

Muhly has attended all the shows "Marnie," based on the same novel that inspired the film Alfred Hitchcock. But he looked from the backstage because, he said, "seeing him from home would make me very worried …"

The final show this Saturday will be broadcast live in HD to cinemas around the world.
