South Bali Rocked by 5.3 SR Earthquake Ahead of Midnight



BMKG said the earthquake in South Bali had no tsunami potential.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – South Bali was hit by an earthquake measuring 5.3 magnitude on Wednesday night. The official page of the Meteorology, Geophysics and Climatology Agency (BMKG) broadcasts the earthquake at 23.30 WIB.

BKMG informed that the epicenter was at 9.42 South Latitude 115.41 East Longitude or 78 km southwest of Klungkung Regency at a depth of 20 km. There was no tsunami warning following the earthquake.

A number of regions are said to have felt the earthquake. Vibration was felt in Tabanan, Karangasem, Kuta, Jimbaran, Denpasar, Mataram, Central Lombok, North Lombok, West Lombok and East Lombok with MMI III-IV intensity levels.

Meanwhile in the areas of Gianyar, Klungkung, Nusa Dua, Legian and Sumbawa it was felt with MMI III intensity.
