Solopos.com, SEOUL – Before officially launching in the market, specifications about the Samsung Galaxy S10 slowly leaked. In fact, this time Samsung hints at a new generation processor, the Exynos 9820 that will be embedded in the latest cellphone.
Reportedly this processor is a competitor of Apple Bionic A12 and Kirin 980 owned by Huawei. Reported BGROn Friday (11/16/2018), besides that the latest chipset from Samsung is claimed to be able to outperform its predecessor that supports flagship phones like the Galaxy S9 and Note 9 this year.
Even the chipset is also supported with GPU Mali-G76 which will provide a 40% performance increase and 35% power savings compared to its predecessor. According to Samsung, the new chip also supports faster cellphone speeds, up to 2.0Gbps for downloads and 316Mbps for uploads.
Samsung also said that the Exynos 9820 multi-format codec supports encoding and decoding 4K UHD video at 150 frames per second, or 8K video at 30 frames per second.
"Providing more accurate color representation by offering more tones and colors," said Samsung.
Not only that, the main highlight of this latest processor is the AI feature (Artificial Inteligent. Samsung's new chip will come with its own nerve processing unit (NPU), which has to do AI tasks up to seven times faster than its predecessor.
NPU processing takes place on the device and will help with a variety of AI features, including camera enhancements, as well as augmented and virtual reality applications. Furthermore, Samsung also revealed that the Exynos 9820 will begin production at the end of this year.
