AFF 2018 Cup, Milky Way Hopes Thailand Beat Philippines

KOMPAS.com – The Indonesian national team coach, the Milky Way, is very confident that Thai players will not flirt with the Philippines when the two teams meet at Panaad Stadium, Bacolod, Philippines, Wednesday (11/21/2018).

The chance for Indonesia's escape to the AFF 2018 Cup semifinals depends on the results of the Philippines vs Thailand. If the duel ends in a draw or the Philippines becomes a winner, the door to the semifinals is certainly closed to the Garuda squad.

The Milky Way's belief is inseparable from the Thai game that always appears with high spirits. That was proven when Thailand won a 4-2 victory against Indonesia at Rajamangala Stadium, Bangkok, Saturday (11/17/2018).

"I see the character of Thai players. They are very sporty and the team does not want to lose to anyone," said the Milky Way at ABC Field, Senayan, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (11/20/2018).

"I think they will fight against the Philippines," added the Milky Way.

Currently, Indonesia is in fourth position with a collection of three points from three matches that have been played. Meanwhile, the Philippines has six points from two matches and leaves matches against Thailand and Indonesia.

Indonesia's match against the Philippines will take place at the Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Senayan, Central Jakarta on Sunday (11/25/2018). The match could not be meaningful for Hansamu Yama et al if the Philippines gets the maximum result against Thailand.

"So we hope that Thailand can win the match against the Philippines, so our chances are still open on Sunday," the Milky Way said. (Mochamad Hary Prasetya)
