November 13, 2018

India batsman Rohit Sharma, originally in India. A squad for their first four days against New Zealand, is recommended to take a break, and will not be available for this series. The decision was taken by the BCCI medical team in consultation with the team's management, "given the recent workload" was announced on Tuesday (November 13).

While he will lose the four-day set to be played on Mount Maunganui from November 16-19, he will be available for the first T20I on November 21 in Brisbane.

His call to the Test side for the Australian series was quite surprising, after being left out of the squad for the Afghanistan and England series with poor performances in the longest format.

With Rohit unavailable for day four, he will go on an Australian tour without playing a multi-day cricket since January 2018, where he was chosen on the South African side. His first domestic first-class appearance came more than two years ago.

He will leave for Australia from Mumbai on November 16.
