Pankaj Tripathi's debut on Instagram, Citing Fake Accounts as the Reason

On Saturday, Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi made his Instagram debut. And in just a span of two days, the following list of accounts reached nearly 53,000. The reason is more because of necessity rather than choice, said the actor.

According to a report, the actor called the October 2019 incident as the main driving force to get a verified account. "There are several fake accounts with my name. [Things came to a head when] one of the accounts posted inappropriate pictures taken by the portal, "the actor said.

The picture is a collage of 16 actors including Naseeruddin Shah, Manoj Bajpayee, Irrfan, Vicky Kaushal, Ayushmann Khurrana and Rajkummar Rao. The picture was given the title "Naya Cinema," which caused netizens to slap the actor for being sexist because the picture didn't even have one actress.

Then, the actor tweeted the clarification, confirming that it wasn't him but posted by a fake account. the tweet reads, "," Kya gairzimmedarana patrakarita hi yeh. Play Instagram par hu hai nahi aur farzi page se yeh tasveer utha to kuch bhi likh de rahe hai aap log. It's like chaanbeen karein. (What is this irresponsible journalism? I'm not on Instagram. Taking a picture of your fake account writes whatever you want. Please check the facts). "

"The picture was news, very disappointing to me. I can't report fake accounts because I'm not on Instagram," he said. The episode remained on his mind for months, the actor confessed.

After joining the photo and video sharing application, Pankaj's first post was the Mirzapur Season 2 trailer, his web series which gave him many praises and awards for Kaleen Bhaiya.
