Industrial production contracted 4.3 percent in September, mainly due to poor performance in the manufacturing sector, according to official data released on Monday.
Factory output, as measured in the Industrial Production Index (IIP), has increased 4.6 percent in September 2018.
The slowdown was witnessed in the manufacturing sector, which dropped 3.9 percent in September compared with 4.8 percent growth a year ago.
The electricity sector output fell 2.6 percent in September, compared with 8.2 percent growth in the year-ago period.
Mining output also fell 8.5 percent in the month under review compared to 0.1 percent growth in the same fiscal last period.
