"Arecymbo Message" in the current Google doodle – Newsbeast

Today doodle he Google reminds something of … third party contact, and that's because it's dedicated to "Arecymbo Message". What exactly is this "message"?

This is a radio signal emitted from the Arejibo Observatory in 1974, which contains basic information about humanity and planet Earth in a coded form. The purpose of the event is to communicate with other extraterrestrial civilizations that will receive and decrypt messages. The message was broadcast towards an area known as a round cluster of Heracles at a distance of 25,000 light years.

Message broadcasts, as mentioned above on Wikipedia, only once, as part of a celebration of the telescope renovation at the Arejimbo Observatory on November 16, 1974.

The message consists of 1,679 bits (210 bytes), which are transmitted at a frequency of 2,380 MHz with frequency modulation at 10 Hz transmit power of 1,000 kW. Digits 1 and 0 whose messages are in binary format are transmitted with frequency shifts at a rate of 10 digits per second. The total broadcast takes less than 3 minutes.

However, because it will take 25,000 years to reach its destination (and another 25,000 years for possible answers), Areismo's message is more of a demonstration of human technology than a real attempt to start a conversation with aliens. In fact, M13 stars that target messages will no longer be in this position when the message arrives, but the message will still reach the center of the galaxy cluster.

The message was made by Frank Drew, working with Carl Sagan and others. There are 7 parts in the message from top to bottom:

– Numbers 1 to 10 (white box)

– Atomic number of elements of hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, and phosphorus. These elements are DNA components (purple boxes)

– Mathematical formulas for sugar and bases in DNA nucleotides (green box)

-Set nucleotides in DNA, and representations of the structure of DNA double strands (white and blue)

Human -Graphic representation, in human dimensions (height), and Earth's human population (red, blue / white, and white boxes)

-Graphic solar system shows which planet the message originated (yellow)

-Graphic representation of Areizum Observatory and radiating radio dimensions (purple, white and blue).
