A driver crashed into a group of young people at a traffic light in Munich, fatally injuring a 14-year-old boy. The man first escaped from the scene of the accident, but was arrested a little later, police said.
The 34-year-old was on the run from the police shortly before midnight on Friday, driving on the wrong side of the road and ignoring several red lights. At the intersection, he collided with two teenagers aged 14 and 16 who were crossing the road. According to preliminary findings, pedestrian lights show green, a police spokesman said. The injured were taken to a clinic where 14 years died a little later.
The 34-year-old caused a second accident on his escape where a driver was slightly injured. When officials placed the fugitive, he initially opposed. Because he also suffered injuries, he was taken to the hospital.
