European funding from the Integrated Regional Operational Program must be for six expensive transportation infrastructure projects. About 830 million crowns must support mainly cutting Velký Beranov, but also Střítež – Štěpánovice. "We try to send as many projects as possible, there is a lot of competition between regions, and there is some money from the State Transportation Infrastructure Fund," Deputy Governor Vladimir Novotny explained.
The government has confirmed that Great Beranov bypass, which will cost 650 million, will remain the largest public contract. "This is the biggest road work in the Vysočina region, so far. Obviously Jihlava will be a little more expensive and bigger," Novotny said. Public calls are issued and the evaluation committee is appointed. Spring next year must begin construction, and by the end of 2020, drivers can now bypass shortcuts.
In May of next year, construction work in the Střítež – Štěpánovice section must begin, and they will cost around one hundred million crowns. Other investment projects in transportation are also planned, the total of which is CZK 188 million according to Deputy Minister Pavel Franek.
However, the government plans to make more applications for European subsidies this year. "On December 21, when the deadline for submitting applications ended, Vysočina Region plans to propose support for the implementation of 12 other projects being prepared. We want to get up to 2.3 billion crowns for projects realized in the next two or three years," Jiri Běhounek , CEO of Vysočina Region, said.
