Prague – The Czech Statistics Office today will publish preliminary estimates of economic development in the third quarter. Analysts expect the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Q3 to rise by 2.5 percent year-on-year on average and 0.7 percent quarter-on-quarter. In the second quarter, the Czech economy posted a year-on-year growth of 2.4 percent. Gross domestic product rose 0.7 percent quarter-on-quarter.
"In our estimation, the domestic economy accelerated slightly in the third quarter, but performance was still weaker than expected at the beginning of the year. The economy further hampered the lack of empty workers in the labor market, weaker foreign demand and further tightening of monetary conditions," said Raiffeisenbank analyst Frantisek Taborsky.
