The University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha on Saturday confirmed that the place was keeping the person in a safe area that was not accessible to other patients or the community. Spokesman Taylor Wilson said the man arrived on Saturday afternoon.
The medical center does not provide further details, according to the person's privacy request. The agency also did not identify the person as a patient or reveal when the man was in Africa.
Local authorities indicated that the person was not sick or showing symptoms Ebola, but will remain under observation for up to two weeks.
The medical center has a biocontainment unit and in 2014 treated three Ebola patients.
