The National Statistics Agency (INE) delivered figures this Friday morning unemployment from the August-October quarter.
According to the entity, that The unemployment rate reached 7.1%, presenting variations of 0.4 percentage points in twelve months.
The foregoing is explained by a 1% increase from employed, versus an expansion of 1.4% of the workforce, resulting in greater pressure on the market.
The agency also reported that unemployed increased 6.4%, explained by the unemployed (6.0%) and by those who sought work for the first time (10.6%).
In the annual increase the categories of jobs employed, private (1.5%) and public (2.7%) and construction (4.0%), accommodation and meals (6.6%) sectors, and teaching (3.0% )
According to working hours, the increase in this segment was driven by those who usually worked 45 hours a week (2.0%). The annual increase in private wage earners (72,120 people) is the highest observed since 2015 for the same quarter.
Regarding gender, the level of women stands at 7.4%, growing 0.1 percentage points in twelve months, while men are 6.9%, 0.6 pp more.
In twelve months, unemployment rate increased in nine regions, it reduced by five and remained unchanged at Aysén. The highest increase was recorded in Atacama (1.6 pp.), While in Magallanes the main decline was recorded (-1.7 pp.).
According to INE, the level of labor pressure is 12.8%, growing by 0.1 pp. in twelve months. Seasonally adjusted unemployment reached 7.1%, which means 0.2 pp. more than the previous quarter.
Populations outside the workforce or inactive grew 2.4% in twelve months, only influenced by inactivity (3.8%).
The level of informal employment contracted 0.3 percentage points, reaching 29.3%. During the same period, informal workers increased 0.2%.
