This is about 48 thousand doses of inoculation against yellow fever who arrived in Chile and which will be distributed in the first week of January to the vaccine, after being certified by the Institute of Public Health (ISP).
At the international level, deficits have been marked for months, due to the increase in cases of this disease in Brazil, said La Tercera.
The vaccine will be distributed by the Sanofi Pasteur Laboratory, according to Deputy Minister of Public Health from the Ministry of Health, Paula Daza. As such, they may be available during first half of January.
Daza estimates that 48 thousand of these doses must meet domestic demand for the summer. However, the World Health Organization (WHO) guarantees that Chile will have a vaccine for the following months.
In this way, the tourists travel to Where are Brazil or African countries Aedes Aegypti, mosquitoes that transmit yellow fever, will be able to access the hours ordered at different health centers, such as Clínica Las Condes, which already has 2,200 scheduled hours.
On the other hand, the German Clinic announced that they would start scheduling vaccinations after the dose was distributed.
Health authorities call for vaccination only for those who will travel to countries where the disease is present, to avoid the vaccine deficit and / or collapse. They emphasize that in Chile there is no yellow fever.
Recommendations must be inoculated at least 10 days before the trip. Also, those who have been vaccinated a year ago are still protected and do not need to re-apply the dose.
