Super Metroid This is one of the key titles from the Super Nintendo catalog for various reasons. However, among the thousand dangers hidden on the planet Zebes there is also room for a love note. Literally though finding it is almost impossible.
The author of this message Yasuhiko Fujii, the programmer of the classic metroidvania SNES, which recognizes this romantic Easter Egg during an interview published in this book Shokunin Vol. 1 2007 and recently recovered and translated from shmuplations.
The same content, as shown by GameXplain, only two words are tracked on the screen without the player or Nintendo themselves realizing they are: Keiko Love!Being Keiko, Fujii's young partner.
According to Fujii himself, these words were traced in the air by two Evir, enemies who flew, just before the war against Daygon.
But the best of all is what motivated him to have this little detail with Keiko: because he spent a lot of time working he could barely see it, so he managed to program this love statement during development. Sneak up!
Actually, just before the fight with Draygon, boss Maridia, there was a group of Evir enemies who made a kind of "dance". His movement actually tracks the letters of a sentence in English: "Keiko Love"! Keiko is the name of a girl I dated at the time.
I am busy with work all the time and I can't see it much, so at night, when everyone is sleeping in the office, I steal a few moments and add that code!
Evir's little dance isn't written in planning documents or anywhere, so I remember that my heart is a thousand an hour when I encode it, with concern that they found me. But, in the end, no one found it. Isn't this a romantic story? (laugh)
The result? You can check it briefly at the 2.10: 00 mark on the next longplay. Admittedly, flight of enemies is never too normal. And now we have a reason.
It is clear that there are more romantic ways to show your love for someone, but of course, it is very complicated to do it in a more subtle way.
