The National Videogame Museum shows the Mini Vectrex console running

This is a unique device from the 80s that only exists in rumors.

In the decade of the 80s the console was known as Vectrex it included some innovative elements such as integrated screens and vector-based graphics, but unfortunately he was a victim of what was called the videogame crisis in 1983.

Interestingly, in 2003, Edge magazine revealed an alleged existence Vectrex Mini noted that a fan had seen a mini console at the presidential desk of a manufacturing company during a tour of facilities in the early 80s.

Even about 8 years ago someone who claimed to be a relative of someone who worked at Milton Bradley shared some scanned images of alleged Mini Vectrex, which in some ways reinforced the idea that the product was at least in the planning stage.

Well, even though Vectrex Mini is only mentioned in rumors, now we have that National Video Game Museum in Frisco, Texas has fully confirmed its existence because they have managed to get a prototype for their collection (via Gizmodo).

And for those who doubt the truth, the museum even restores the device and makes it work, as you can see in the video below:

The mini version of the Vectrex console comes with a screen, controls and even integrates the handle to hold it from above and can carry it, so it clearly looks like a device that is the inspiration for today's laptops like Nintendo Replace.

what do you think?
