Alcoholism kills 1 in 20 people in the world: WHO



According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 1 in 20 people in the world die from alcohol consumption.

Harmful use of alcohol is a causative factor for more than 200 diseases and disorders; Alcohol consumption can produce disability and death at a relatively early age also shows WHO.

In only groups of 20 to 39 years, at least 25% of deaths are associated with alcohol consumption.

Alcohol: curiosity to try it for the first time
In this case, the Ministry of Health (Ssa), said that alcohol consumption among Mexican youth is increasing and that one of the main reasons they refer to drinking alcohol for the first time is curiosity.

Alcoholic beverages, Ssa explains, are psychoactive substances that can cause dependency, in addition to other identified causes where alcohol consumption begins among young people aged 12 to 24 who agree to try this type of drink for the first time:

2. Invitation from friends (13.5%)

3. Experiments (12.4%)

4. Family problems (10%)

5. Influence of friends (9.4%)

6. Acceptance of groups (4.1%)

7. Family invitations (2.9%

8. Depression (2.4%).

Thus, in Latin America, the main consumer country of alcoholic beverages is occupied by Chile with 9.6 liters per capita.

Mexico occupies tenth place with consumption of 7.2 liters per capita.

How many"? To determine the consumption of excessive alcoholic beverages, WHO revealed that when women consume more than 40 grams and men over 60 grams they will risk their health.

Finally, WHO warns that excessive amounts of this type of drink end with the lives of 3 million people each year, mostly men.
