A Mapuche woman from Aysen told Aracely Leuquén's deputy: "You're embarrassing us"

Representatives from different Mapuche organizations in the area were convinced through a video that the actions of National Renovation MPs were far from representing indigenous people.

Through the video, more than 10 leaders from different communities and the Mapuche association in the Aysén area openly criticized the deputies for the Aysén Region, Aracely Leuquén (RN), saying that "You are not representing us and you are embarrassing us".

The leaders went to the Leuquén deputy, who said in national media that the interpellation announced by opposition to Interior Minister Andrés Chadwick was a left-hand step, not falling well in the indigenous world.

Zulema Calfulef, Calfulef indigenous community president of Coyhaique, sent a message to the RN representative, noting that "it is not enough to have a Mapuche family name, when we say that we are the Mapuche woman we feel in our sadness".

"We want to let you know that you are not our representative, we represent ourselves as the Aysén region, we do not need your vote," added the Yorka Cheuquián Galindo, Mapuche authority of the Rakiduantum indigenous association, which showed dissatisfaction with parliamentarians.

On the contrary, Mapuche leaders from the Aysén region gave full support to representatives of the Los Lagos Region, Emilia Nuyado (PS) "who will represent us in the interpellation in front of Minister Andrés Chadwick, to him we send all our newen (strength or energy)".
