For the second time in less than a week, the Canadian Trust bank TD has been robbed but this time, police have confirmed that firearms have been used up during the incident.

The police also said there were no injuries and that they had two suspects in detention in connection with the robbery.

The incident began to unfold before 8 pm Friday night and ended with several police officers chasing on foot and in a patrol vehicle. Traffic stopped on Mount Road and Pippy Place when officers closed a busy busy road to investigate two separate vehicles, one on Kenmount Road and a second small pickup that ended with the first nose on a snowy embankment at Pippy Place.

A forensic identification officer was seen photographing sneakers linked to a running board on an SUV on Mount Road.

Two witnesses who spoke with The Telegram, Craig Clancey and Philip Sullivan, saw part of the incident taking place at Pippy Place. They said they saw several police and K-9 units searching in the area, on foot and on a police cruiser, and they at one point saw one of the suspects running across the road. They added that men carried large guns or rifles and wore dark clothes.

Shortly thereafter, the police told Clancey and Sullivan that two suspects were being held.

A forensic identification vehicle is seen in front of the TD bank at Kelsey Drive where the incident originated.

RNC said further details with a list of fees will be released Saturday morning.
