Six people were rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a multi-vehicle vehicle accident on Anthony Henday Drive on Saturday afternoon, closing the freeway.

Traffic heading north near Cameron Heights Road was diverted to Rabbit Hill Road and drivers were asked to avoid the area because the police remained at the scene.

The police investigation department's major collision section is currently investigating, EPS spokesman Carolin Marin said in an e-mail.

Police remind drivers to slow down and give themselves extra time to reach their destination with ongoing snow and highways.

Further details about this collision will be provided when available, Marin said.
