One person was killed, two others were injured in a single vehicle accident in Oxford County


OXFORD COUNTY, Ont. – Oxford County provincial police are investigating a single vehicle accident that claimed the life of a man and placed two other people in the hospital.

The accident occurred Saturday night in Zorra Township.

The OPP researcher said the vehicle was heading north on Line 19 when it turned into a ditch, crashed into a hydro pole and then hit a tree.

Police said the driver, Ingersoll, Ont., A 21-year-old man was declared dead at the hospital. They said two male passengers, including one released from the vehicle, were also hospitalized with undetermined injuries.

The name of the deceased is being held pending notification from the closest family.

Police, meanwhile, said speed and alcohol were considered as contributing factors in the accident.
