Today during DnDLive 2019: The Descent, Wizards of the Coast has announced the D & D Essentials Kit, a new starter box product designed to make it easy to start playing Dungeons and Dragons.
The D & D Essentials Kit (picture below) will display a new rule book designed to help those interested in playing Dungeons and Dragons by teaching them how to create characters without the amount of often intimidating information contained in the three core rulebooks. This kit includes a 64-page rulebook for making character levels one to six, from five different classes (four iconic and bard classes).
Available for $ 25 in most Target stores in North America on June 24, and anywhere on September 3.
Like the Dungeon and Dragons Starter Set, which includes a choice of everything you need to start playing, the D & D Essentials Kit also contains a new adventure called Dragon of Icespire Peak written by Chris Perkins, the Principle Narrative Designer on Dungeons and Dragons.
Dragon of Icespire Peak is scalable for level one to six characters and takes place in the same location as The Lost Mine of Phandelver (adventures included in the D & D Starter Set.) Both adventures can be played together, or you can run one directly to another. The Dragon of Icespire Peak is meant to be a beginner's adventure for the new Dungeon Masters that will guide you through 14 different regions that are bound by search.
D & D can be a scary game for newcomers, but if you really want to try, the Dungeons & Dragons Starter Set is the place to start. These include rule books, adventure books, five pre-made characters, six dice, and character sheets – all you need to start your adventure.
Other elements that might prevent people from joining Dungeons and Dragons are others to play together. That is why this kit includes new rule variants for one-on-one games, where one Master Dungeon and one player can run the Dragon of Icespire Peak using sidekick rules to fill parties with non-player characters.
In addition to all of the above, the D & D Essentials Kit includes a set of dice (including two D20s for profit and loss and four six-sided dice to roll up statistics for your character) and a new DM screen with all new artwork.
The box also contains a map of the city where adventure is organized, with a larger map showing the surrounding area on the other side. Also includes a box of cards that includes things like magic items, rule reminder cheat sheets, best friends, and more.
The D & D Essentials Kit will be available for $ 25 at most Target stores in North America on June 24 before being launched elsewhere on September 3.
Wizards of the Coast also announced the Baldur Gate: Going down to Avernus today, a new adventure book described as a combination of Hell and Crazy Max: Jalan Fury.
