After teasing in early December, Honor View 20 is now official. It was just announced in China as an Honor V20, with a global launch to take part in an event in Paris, France on January 22.
The phone is equipped with a hole-punch selfie camera on screen, and a Sony MPX 486 48 MP rear shooter that joins the 3D ToF sensor on the back. This will be the company's first mainstay in 2019.

The Honor V20 is built with a 1080p 6.4 "LCD resolution and an unusually high ratio of 19.25: 9. The chipset is Kirin 980, which is combined with 6 GB RAM or 8 GB RAM, while the storage options are two – 128 GB and 256 GB. Having an LCD panel means there is no UD fingerprint scanner – there is a conventional one on the back.
The front panel has a 25 MP selfie shooter hole, but only the LGP layer is cut, while the OCA, POL, color filters, arrays remain the same. Honor boasted about perfecting the entire manufacturing process, so the camera did not physically penetrate the screen. If you want to know more about the design and manufacturing process, you should go here.
The Honor V20 comes with a cool gradient rear panel with V that changes color as the viewpoint changes. The 48 MP snapper is large – 1/2-inch CMOS sensor (0.8 μm / pixel) with a Quad-Bayer arrangement that allows stacking of pixels for 12 MP HDR night shooting.
The ToF 3D sensor along with the Kirin 980 chipset allows 3D body formation, so you can look perfect in your full-height image.
The Honor V20 (View 20) comes with EMUI and presents all of Huawei's well-known features such as the Super Night View mode – handheld long exposure shooting. There is also an EIS and Turbo Turbo 2.0 out of the box.
Huawei Mate 20 is next to Honor View 20
The Honor V20 supports Huawei desktop mode so that it can also be used instead of a desktop PC when connected to a monitor, keyboard and mouse.
This supports dual frequency GPS positioning and also dual Wi-Fi antennas.
The battery is 4,000 mAh and is equipped with SuperCharge support 22.5W – 4.5V / 5A. It has to charge up to 55% in 30 minutes or up for one and a half hours because this is how Huawei Mate 20 comes up with the same power settings in our tests.
Price and availability
The Honor View 20 will arrive in three colors – Red, Blue and Black. The 6/128 GB variant is worth CNY2,999 ($ 435), while the 8/128 GB option is CNY3,499 ($ 510). The Moschino version comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage and costs CNY3,999 ($ 580), but doesn't have a fancy black panel.
