Is it possible to make $ 1 million per minute? Floyd Mayweather said he would do this this weekend.
Mayweather, a boxing legend, insinuated Sunday on Instagram that he would make $ 9 million to face the magic of 20-year-old kickboxing Tenshin Nasukawa in a boxing match at Rizin 14 at Saitama Super Arena in Japan on Monday. The contest will have three rounds of three minutes each.
"What if I told you that I made $ 9,000,000 in a 9-minute debate in Tokyo, would you do the same if you were me?" Write Mayweather. "I like to call it a 9 minute walk through."
Rizin promoter Nobuyuki Sakakibara said before the event that Nasukawa would wear 8-ounce gloves and Mayweather would wear 10 ounces of gloves for the fight. Earlier this month, it was announced that the contest would not have a jury, so there would be no decision winner if it lasted three rounds. Maybe there are still KO or TKO. This is full contact, but it will not enter the boxing records of either person.
Rizin 14 will be aired pay-per-view on TV Fite, although Mayweather vs Nasukawa will not be available to watch in North America due to broadcast rights issues.
Nasukawa usually fights around 121 pounds. He will give up about three inches to Mayweather 5-foot-8, who fought Conor McGregor last year for 154 pounds. Mayweather is the biggest money maker in boxing history, while Nasukawa is considered the future of combat sports in Japan.
Rizin 14 will also include the main MMA champions vs. champions between bantam class champions Bellator, Darrion Caldwell and Kyoji Horiguchi, Rizin champions. Nasukawa defeated Horiguchi, a former UFC title contender, in a kickboxing match in September.
