Edmonton police said women's deaths were cases of domestic violence, men in detention

The Edmonton police murder officer is investigating the death of a woman as a case of domestic violence.

Police said officers were called home Friday morning to check reports of attacks with weapons and find the body of a 49-year-old woman.

The investigator said a 53-year-old man then surrendered.

Police said the man was arrested and the charges were delayed.

The man and woman knew each other and the police said they were not looking for additional suspects.

Autopsy has not been scheduled.
