7 people, including six members of the same family, were killed in clashes between trucks and rickshaws run by CNG at Laksmipur.
The incident took place on the Dhaka-Raipur regional highway in the Jadavaya area, Lakshmipur Sadar, at around 5:30 am Wednesday. According to the first light, 6,880 people were killed in 698 days of road accidents today at Laksmipur.
Officers of the Head of the Laxmipur Sadar Chandarganj Police Station Abul Kalam Azad said the bodies of seven people were found from the scene. After recovery, the body was sent to the morgue of Laxmipur Sadar Hospital for an autopsy.
The deceased was an automatic rickshaw driver Nuru Hossain, passenger Shah Alam, Nasima Akhter, Rokeya Begum, Shamsun Nahar, Md. Rubles and Amites. Six passengers were killed in automatic rickshaws in the same family member. Their house is under the Basu Dhuvita area of the Chandraganj union of Lakshmipur Sadar upazila.
Police said the truck went from Bhola to Chittagong. Auto-rickshaws managed by CNG switched from Chandraganj to Lakshmipur. At around 5:30 a.m., a truck collided with a truck in the Jadaya area, Lakshmipur Sadar. At least seven people died on the spot.
After the accident, the police and fire department continued the operation. They rescued the bodies and sent them to the morgue of Laksmipur Sadar Hospital. Accident trucks and automatic rickshaws found. The road movement is now normal.
