The Province will maintain Social Electricity Rates which are dismissed by the State – Politics

On January 1, 2019, the Nation will no longer benefit from the Electricity Social Tariff and Stimulus Plan, eliminating them from their aid program.

Through the Social Electricity Rate, users are subsidized 100 percent of the wholesale energy price for the first 300 bhp, while for the next 300 bhp the subsidy is 50 percent.

The Stimulus Plan for Electricity Energy Savings, in turn, sets a 10 percent discount on wholesale prices for users who achieve a 20 percent reduction in their consumption, due to the same period in 2015.

Both bonuses, which benefit low-income housing users, have no effect on January 1, 2019 through Nation resolution. With this new scenario, this segment of users will be very vulnerable and forced to pay the cost of new electricity bills with an increase of more than 100 percent.

For this reason, the provincial government of Entre Ríos has decided to maintain Social Electricity Tariffs throughout the province and absorb costs related to its own resources. In connection with the Stimulus Plan, it will remain valid in the Entre Ríos Province until January 31, 2019.

Again, the province of Entre Ríos is responsible for social programs that benefit the sectors that need them most in facing decisions by the national government.
