The application world does not stop and continues to grow continuously. The use of mobile devices for all daily life activities results in the development of applications to meet all user needs.
In 2017, the number of downloads of mobile applications worldwide reached 197 billion, 32% more than in 2016, according to Statista data. It is expected that by 2021 there will be 353 billion downloads. One of these applications, Skyscanner (flight search engine), shows in reports how this was achieved.
In it, they confirmed that "The main reason for the appearance of the first mobile app is being able to organize executive and professional work: agendas, calculators, notes, text editors, spreadsheets, contacts, e-mail, etc. However, with the passage of time, the entertainment sector is in the middle of the stage".
And that adds: "The cellphone is no longer a tool for making and receiving text calls and messages to be a powerful machine, comparable to a computer, which can be used to run almost any task every day."
At present, the biggest use given to smart phones is social. "About 90% of the time we spend with cellphones is used to view applications, and from that percentage, more than a third of the time is spent on social networks or instant messaging platforms," said the report.
This can be seen in data on historical downloads provided by two main platforms, Apple and Android.
Most applications are downloaded at Apple
In 10 years, the most downloaded application is Facebook social network, followed by FacebookMessenger, YouTube, Instagram and WhatsApp.

In the case of Google, this list is also led by Facebook, followed by WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, and Clean Master, an application that allows free space at the cellular terminal.
