The importance of diagnosis
An HIV test is the only way to find out if you live with a virus or not. Knowing the diagnosis facilitates access to care, which in Argentina is free and guarantees a good quality of life. On the other hand, the offer of tests for HIV is part of a diagnostic expansion strategy that aims to reduce the number of people who do not know their serological conditions.
At present and for several years, Argentina and Crdoba have adhered to the 90-90-90 goal which is estimated to increase to 90 percent of the proportion of people with HIV who know their diagnosis; that people are taking antiretroviral therapy and those taking antiretroviral therapy with an undetectable viral load.
Testing at Plaza San Martn was proposed to bring tests to people who for various reasons were still not and regulated in coordination between the Ministry of Health, Crdoba Municipality, Cordoba National University, the College of Biochemistry of Crdoba and various civil society organizations.
The touching activity began on Friday, November 23, with training for health team collaborators and civil society organizations who will participate in the testing.
