Companies that produce gearbox parts in Córdoba to supply Volkswagen and Fiat factories in the province created a cluster with the aim improve this sector, attract investment and multiple production part.
Box Change Cluster, when this group was baptized twenty two companies that are interrelated, launched in the Civic Center of the Government of Córdoba in the presence of the Secretary of the Nation Industry, Fernando Grasso, and the Minister of Industry of the Province, Roberto Lavalle.
According to official estimates, cluster produces 2,300 direct jobs and 8,000 indirect jobs. They are mostly suppliers of the Córdoba Industrial Center from Volkswagen Argentina, where MQ-250 and MQ-200 transmissions are currently produced. They also supplied the Fiat factory in Ferreyra.
At present, the entire value chain generates nearly 700,000 cases per year, but installed capacity reaches one million and a half unit. In the sector they believe that, from cluster conformation, they will be able to duplicate production. This will reduce fixed costs.
"The idea is to reproduce the Mexican experience, which collects a group of auto parts, and looking for investment formation in this country because until now the Latin American market is taking him to Brazil, "explained the new cluster coordinator, Catalina Pedrozo, according to El Cronista.
In the past four months, due to the fall in domestic demand in the face of rising prices and interest rates, production at car factories fell uninterrupted.
In this context, suppliers of box pieces form clusters "to be able to seduce the terminal so that they continue to invest in Argentina and we can have more transmission plants in this country, which we know how to do"Said the general manager of the Fundición Arte (this is one of the car parts that made it), Pablo Albert.
