Chilling: a terrible asteroid approaching Earth

A large 213 meter diameter asteroid could hit Earth during the next century, causing a massive explosion, according to a recent warning issued by NASA, reports Express.

This space rock, which moves at 15.13 kilometers per second and has a length equivalent to two Big Ben in London, is known as 2018 LF16 and was first observed on June 16, 2017 by NASA's Propulsion to Reaction (JPL) System Sentry, programmed to track possible risks of asteroid impacts.

According to Sentry's calculation, the closest potential impact can occur on August 8, 2023. Other dates are August 3, 2024 and August 1, 2025. Meanwhile, there are a total of 62 LF16 2018 tracks predicted, when the rock can hit Earth until the year 2117.

What is scary is that if an asteroid of this size attacks us, it will do it with a power of 50 megatons, the equivalent of a Soviet hydrogen bomb known as the Bomb of Zar, the strongest nuclear weapon ever made, showing the middle

However, it must be stressed that, fortunately, the possibility of a 2018 LF16 collision with our planet is almost non-existent. In fact, the exact percentage of this probability is estimated to be 0.0000033%, which is between 30,000,000, according to NASA experts quoted by the media.
