Banyana Banyana qualifies for the FIFA Women's World Cup

There are wild celebratory scenes at the final whistle when South Africa has the right to book their World Cup place, beat Mali in each department and show themselves back to being the most advanced team in the competition.

Captain Janine van Wyk shed tears at the final whistle, memories of past failures for now being thrown away.

Mali almost made a shot on goal because the greater South African organization and tactics held them back.

Van Wyk saw his 35-yard free kick go wide of the post at the start, while Refiloe Jane deviated a shot that was too wide when he might be better off trying to pick his teammate.

Mali thought they should have been given a penalty when the ball hit Van Wyk in the penalty box, but the referee waved and it looked the right decision.
